Transparent pricing and insurance details to help you plan your therapy. We believe in removing barriers to care, and we direct bill to most insurance providers so you pay less out of pocket.
We direct bill to most major insurance providers. In most cases you only pay the portion your plan does not cover, with no upfront full payment and no reimbursement paperwork.
Therapy Fees
Session Rates
Fees are based on standard clinical rates for Registered Social Workers (RSWs) in Ontario. Please contact Better Minds Counselling directly or visit our Jane App booking portal to view specific rates for individual therapists and session formats.
Available Session Formats:
- 50-minute sessions
- 90-minute sessions
- double sessions
Sliding Scale Openings
A sliding fee scale is available for some clients based on financial need. Contact Better Minds Counselling to discuss availability.
Accepted Payment Methods:
Cancellation Policy
Better Minds Counselling maintains a strict 48-hour cancellation policy. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice are subject to the full session fee.
Insurance & Extended Health
Psychotherapy services provided by Registered Social Workers (RSWs) are covered by most major extended health insurance plans in Ontario. Because coverage varies significantly between plans, we recommend calling your provider before your first session.
Better Minds Counselling direct bills to most insurance providers. Where your plan allows direct billing, we submit the claim for you so you only cover any remaining balance.
Questions to Ask Your Insurance Provider:
- Does my plan cover counselling/psychotherapy services provided by a Registered Social Worker (RSW)?
- What is my maximum annual coverage limit for mental health services?
- Is there a deductible amount I need to pay first?
- Does my plan allow for direct billing by the clinic?
