Clinical Biography
I am a Registered Social Worker and the practice lead at Better Minds Counselling. I work with adults, teens, and children ages 12 and up who are navigating anxiety, depression, concussion-related concerns, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. My work is practical, collaborative, and focused on helping clients make meaningful change without feeling overwhelmed by the process.
In therapy, I pay close attention to what is happening in your day-to-day life, not only to what appears on paper as a diagnosis or concern. You may be managing panic attacks, low mood, stress after a concussion, relationship strain, or the feeling that life has become too complicated to sort through alone. I help clients slow those concerns down, understand what is maintaining them, and build concrete tools that can fit into real life.
My goal is to make therapy feel accessible and useful. I believe small, actionable changes can build confidence over time. Sessions often include practical strategies, reflection, skill-building, and a steady focus on what would help you feel more capable in your relationships, routines, decisions, and emotional life.
My Therapeutic Philosophy
I draw from mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. Rather than forcing one method onto every client, I use these approaches to help you understand your patterns, regulate emotions, manage difficult thoughts, and take clear next steps.
Clients can expect a collaborative process. We identify what feels most urgent, break complex concerns into manageable steps, and build tools that develop over time. Therapy becomes more effective when it feels grounded, respectful, and connected to the real pressures you are living with.
