Hear From Victoria:

For my work with couples, I utilize Gottman Method Therapy, a structured, research-based approach to couples counselling that helps partners improve communication, increase emotional intimacy, rebuild connection, and resolve conflict in a healthier way. Developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, the Gottman Method focuses on replacing negative interaction patterns with evidence-based skills that strengthen friendship, trust, and long-term relationship satisfaction.

Having completed Level 3 Gottman Method Training, I am able to utilize the Gottman Relationship Assessment, a comprehensive tool that helps identify relationship strengths and areas for growth. This allows therapy to be tailored to your unique relationship needs rather than taking a general approach, ensuring that sessions focus on the areas that matter most to you and your partner.

In my work with individuals, I support adults and children who are experiencing overwhelming emotions, helping them develop strategies to cope, heal, and create meaningful change. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to better understand thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that may be impacting daily life, relationships, confidence, or personal growth.

I have a particular focus on supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and PTSD. I work collaboratively with each client to understand their experiences and develop an approach that best supports their goals, needs, and strengths.

My therapeutic approach integrates several evidence-based therapies, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centred Therapy.

EMDR therapy is an effective approach for processing traumatic experiences and reducing the emotional intensity connected to distressing memories and triggers. Many clients find EMDR helpful in creating relief from experiences that have continued to impact their emotional wellbeing.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying unhelpful thought patterns and developing practical tools to manage emotions, behaviours, stress, anxiety, and life challenges. Solution-Focused Therapy helps clients recognize their existing strengths, identify solutions, and build on what is already working in their lives.

At the foundation of my therapeutic work is Person-Centred Therapy, which emphasizes compassion, authenticity, unconditional positive regard, and a non-judgmental environment. I believe that feeling safe, heard, and understood is an essential part of the healing process.

Every client is unique, and I work with each person to find the combination of therapeutic approaches that is most helpful for their situation. Whether you are seeking support for couples counselling, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, or personal growth, therapy can provide the tools and support needed to move forward.
