Hear From Courtney:
Life can feel overwhelming, even at the best of times. Whether you're navigating a difficult relationship, struggling with anxiety or low mood, feeling stuck in old patterns, or simply trying to just better understand yourself, therapy can provide a space to slow down and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
I believe that therapy is most effective when clients feel genuinely seen, heard and accepted. I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in warmth, authenticity, humour, and trust, creating a space where you can feel safe enough to explore the challenges you are facing. I prioritize delivering evidence-based practices with curiosity and compassion.
My work is grounded in integrating a person-centred approach and combines techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Motivational Interviewing. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I aim to tailor therapy to each individual's unique experiences and goals. Together, we can explore patterns that may no longer be serving you, develop practical strategies for navigating life's challenges and build on the resilience you already possess.
I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, behavioural concerns, substance use and addiction, and relationship difficulties. I also have a particular interest in working with individuals and couples, exploring relationship dynamics through attachment theory and Gottman-informed principles to help partners strengthen communication, deepen emotional connection, and navigate conflict more effectively.
In my practice, I aim to facilitate a safe therapeutic space that is warm, relatable, open-minded and engaging. I value balancing empathic validation and creating a space where you can feel supported, while also being challenged to grow. I strive to make therapy feel approachable, collaborative and even enjoyable at times, because healing doesn't have to happen in a space that feels overly clinical or intimidating!
